Spoleto, Palazzo Collicola, Giovanni Carandente. Archives and documents

The exhibition, set up on the occasion of the centenary of the birth of Giovanni Carandente (1920-2009), presents works, photographs, letters and other documentary material in stages to enrich the collections of the museum dedicated to him. Somaini is present with Proposal for a monument II, 1961, bronze in a silver bath, a scale model of the large sculpture exhibited in Spoleto in 1962 as part of the famous Sculpture in the city event and now preserved at the MUMOK in Vienna. In the various stages of the preparation of the documentary exhibition, the correspondence between the sculptor and the art critic, partially unpublished, will also be presented, which traces the stages of their collaboration.

The exhibition will be open to the public with the reopening of the museums, scheduled for January 15th, and online.
