From February 6th to March 15th<\/strong>, as part of the “In Vetrina”<\/strong> event promoted by Museocity, Spazio UniFor<\/strong>, the brand’s beating heart in Milan, hosts the installation “The City of Objects: Aldo Rossi and Francesco Somaini”<\/strong>, curated by Studio Klass with the Francesco Somaini Scultore Foundation. In the large central space of the space designed by Herzog and de Meuron, Studio Klass stages a silent and layered dialogue between Francesco Somaini’s works from the 1970s and the pieces designed by Aldo Rossi for UniFor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cartesio, Consiglio, Parigi e Museo resonate with Somaini’s sculptures through the interplay of scale, the juxtaposition of materials, and the dialogue of forms. The objects, or architectures, designed by Rossi condense personal and archetypal memories while simultaneously populating imaginary cities. Francesco Somaini’s archisculptures also find their place in the metropolis: for the sculptor, New York becomes a paradigmatic space in which to explore the relationship between art and architecture on an urban scale. His forms, conceived to engage with the built environment, ideally sit alongside Rossi’s architectural objects, expanding the dialogue between memory, material, and the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From this encounter emerges a landscape in which the real city overlaps with the imaginary one evoked by the works. A similar city, born of the collective memory of its inhabitants, which contrasts with the critical reinterpretation of the modern city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
