A Living Legacy in Lomazzo. Francesco Somaini 1926–2005 – Photographic Exhibition by Sergio Palazzi

From 7 To 8 November 2026
Ex Asilo Garibaldi, Lomazzo

The multidisciplinary cultural program “A Living Legacy in Lomazzo: Francesco Somaini 1926–2005” — a project organized by the Municipality of Lomazzo and the Somaini Foundation, with the support of several local cultural associations —concludes in November, marking the centenary of the artist’s birth.

On November 7th and 8th, at the former Asilo Garibaldi in Piazza IV Novembre in Lomazzo, visitors can view a photographic exhibition dedicated to the sculptor, organized by the Lomazzo Giovanni Paolo II Cultural Association. The selection of photographs — taken by Lomazzo native Sergio Palazzi — captures Francesco Somaini at work and conveys the expressive power of his artistic pursuits.

The vernissage is scheduled for Saturday, November 7, at 6:00 PM. Following opening remarks from the Mayor, the Foundation, and the Lomazzo Cultural Association, the Helianto Artistic and Cultural Association will guide the audience in exploring Francesco Somaini and his expressive universe through a reading dedicated to his life and work.
Art, the spoken word, and memory will take center stage.

Opening hours:

Sunday, November 8: from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
