Talk – Somaini and the sacred. Mosaics that tend towards the absolute

Su prenotazione
15.30
Milano, Corso di Porta Vigentina, 31 (ingresso da via Cassolo, di fronte al civico n. 3)

As part of the exhibition Francesco Somaini. At the origins of the sacred, where a work recently found in the collections of the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo is presented, the Foundation proposes a cycle of conferences aimed at summarizing in great summary some aspects linked to Francesco Somaini’s liturgical interventions in religious buildings, treated last February 19th during the study day held at the Veneranda Fabbrica.

In this first meeting, Dr. Marco Emilio Erba (PhD in Literary, Artistic and Environmental Heritage Sciences) presents the floor mosaics created by the artist in the churches of SS. Vito and Modesto in Lomazzo, of S. Biagio in Monza and in the chapel of the monastery of the Augustinian nuns in Poschiavo. We are thus led to the discovery of a “virtual itinerary” inside newly built and pre-existing religious buildings, designed by the architect Luigi Caccia Dominioni.

On this occasion it is also possible to visit the current exhibition, accompanied by the curators.
